My overall rating of NGE 3.0 + 1.0: 7/10 : Good anime with good quality Pros: Human growth feeds the plot: The way Shinji evolves and grows trough the movie feels very human and even inspiring in the end, finally using the Father to make a "like father like son" metaphor and bringing closure to the absent father figure was well done and executed, was finally able to reconnect the end of the series with the start of it, following the theme of Japan's history of single parents and suicide rates, which was the hole premise of the start of the series (that the previous movies kind of had seem to forget). Rei was once again re-discovered: After being sort of a side character in previous movies, this one was again able to, like in the original TV series, make Rei evolve, grow and die once more, both on screen and in our hearts, just like in the TV series, fells like a very good deja vu, it was very well done and executed. Was able to fall in love with Rei all over again. Cons: Starting
